We thought we'd try adding some grasses around the pool and found some interesting ones at a nursery in Mount Dora, FL (the Yard Stop).

One is called Aztec Grass, and one of ours has the flowers and the other one doesn't.  They are a light green with whitish-yellow stripes (called variegated). So far, they are doing ok.

Another grass we have that is doing well is called Mondo. It comes in different sizes, (regular and dwarf), and there is a variegated color to some of them. We have a little of each, and they look very nice by the pool.
